چکیده

IntroductionAn autologous arteriovenous fistula (AVF) creation is a common vascular procedure forhemodialysis (HD) patients. This surgical aim to design conduct thatwithstands hemodialysis for durable period. However, the functional outcome of this procedurevaries and depends on patients’ various predictors. .MethodsA retrospective observational study was carried out evaluate AVFcreation at cardiothoracic surgery unit department B.P KoiralaInstitute Health Sciences from February 2019 2020. The medical file patientswas studied, relevant data entered analyzed in SPSS statistical software.ResultsThere were total 112 AVF created during mean age ofthe patients 48.66±15.64 years. There 75(67%) males 37(33%) females. mostcommon limb left non-dominant upper 95(84.8%) right limb17(15.2%). most type radiocephalic 66(58.9%) brachiocephalicfistula 46(41.1%). 92(82.1%) mature eight weeks follow-up. These include54(48.2%) fistulas 38(33.9%) brachiocephalic fistulas. 20(17.8%)delayed matured 12 (12 8 AVF).ConclusionsThe an has fewer complications andthe maturation vessel’s diameter. Saphenofemoral arteriovenous fistula as hemodialysis access

BACKGROUND An upper limb arteriovenous (AV) fistula is the access of choice for haemodialysis (HD). There have been few reports of saphenofemoral AV fistulas (SFAVF) over the last 10-20 years because of previous suggestions of poor patencies and needling difficulties. Here, we describe our clinical experience with SFAVF. METHODS SFAVFs were evaluated using the following variables: immediate r...

Creation of permanent hemodialysis vascular access in patients with failed arteriovenous fistula.

OBJECTIVE To compare the patency rate and complications of arteriovenous fistula (AVF) with synthetic graft in patients with previous history of failed AVF. METHODS This study was carried out at Sina Hospital, Tehran, Iran from April 2002 to July 2003. Patients who had been referred to our center with previous failed attempt for creation of AVF were collected. We again tried to create an AVF ...

Vascular Access Calcification and Arteriovenous Fistula Maturation

The vascular access serves as the “lifeline” for the hemodialysis patient, but in recent years has become the “Achilles Heel” of the hemodialysis procedure. The vascular health of the vessels used to create arteriovenous accesses is paramount to vascular access maturation and successful outcomes. Vascular calcification is widely present in the vessels of chronic kidney disease (CKD) and end sta...

Clinical Analysis of Hemodialysis Vascular Access: Comparision of Autogenous Arterioveonus Fistula & Arteriovenous Prosthetic Graft

BACKGROUND Mature autogenous arteriovenous fistulas have better long term patency and require fewer secondary interventions compared to arteriovenous prosthetic graft. Our Study evaluated vascular patency rates and incidence of interventions in autogenous arteriovenous fistulas and grafts. MATERIAL AND METHODS A total of 166 vascular access operations were performed in 153 patients between De...
